ChainCatcher 消息，据The Block报道，美国参议院农业委员会周四以 12 比 11 的党派投票，批准了总统特朗普提名的商品期货交易委员会(CFTC)主席候选人迈克尔·塞利格(Michael Selig)，提名案将送交全体参议院进行最终表决。此次任命备受关注，因为国会正考虑赋予 CFTC 更广泛的加密货币监管权。
在周三的提名听证会上，塞利格被议员质询 CFTC 是否需要增加资金以应对数字资产监管职责。与拥有 4,200 名全职员工的证券交易委员会(SEC)相比，CFTC 目前仅有 543 名全职员工。塞利格表示，一旦就任主席，他将评估机构是否需要额外资金。
塞利格强调需要为加密行业制定明确规则，在保护投资者的同时，允许软件开发商和新交易所蓬勃发展。他表示："这是制定框架的真正机会，让软件开发者茁壮成长，让新交易所建立起来，保护投资者并具备交易所应有的控制措施。"
