IPS (TYO:4390) said a Yomiuri Shimbun report on the misuse of phone lines provided by its domestic unit IPS PRO earlier this year is accurate, according to a Friday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The company said some lines supplied to an overseas operator displayed spoofed numbers, including police stations, and may have been used in special fraud cases.
IPS said it will tighten oversight of subsidiaries and continue cooperating with authorities.
