11月28日（周五）为感恩节翌日，美股将提前3小时休市，即提前于北京时间次日02：00休市。芝商所旗下美债期货合约交易提前于次日03：30结束。芝商所旗下贵金属、美国原油、外汇期货合约交易提前于次日03：45结束，股指期货合约交易提前于北京时间次日02：15结束。洲际交易所旗下布伦特原油期货合约交易提前于北京时间29日04：00结束。
感恩节是一个美国和加拿大所共有的公共节日，但日子并不是同一天。设立感恩节的原意是感谢上天赐予的好收成或好运气。在美国，自1941年起感恩节都在每年11月的第四个星期四。与中国春节类似，在这一天众多美国人不管多忙，都要想办法和家人团聚。加拿大感恩节始于1879年，是在每年10月第二个星期一，与美国的哥伦布日相同。
感恩节之后的星期五被称为“黑色星期五”，美股在这一天提前3小时收盘也形成了一个小传统。这一天通常被认为标志着年底购物旺季的正式开始，是零售业每年最重要的圣诞销售季业绩的晴雨表，也是一年中商家最看重也最繁忙的日子之一。
