IT之家 11 月 26 日消息，科技媒体 teslarati 今天（11 月 26 日）发布博文，报道称作为埃隆・马斯克旗下相对低调的公司，The Boring Company 悄然公开了其隧道掘进机（TBM）Prufrock 5 的颠覆性设计。
该公司昨日（25 日）发布推文，分享了一张 Prufrock 5 的图片，该隧道掘进机已从得克萨斯州巴斯特罗普的工厂出厂，并计划于 12 月 1 日开始其首次掘进作业。IT之家附上相关截图如下：
这款全电动的隧道掘进机旨在实现革命性的挖掘速度，马斯克评论表示：“终有一天，Prufrock 的速度会超过蜗牛”。
Prufrock 系列最核心的创新在于其“可重用性”。传统隧道掘进机在完成一个项目后，由于将其从地下取出的成本高昂且操作复杂，通常会被直接遗弃在隧道中。
然而，The Boring Company 明确表示，旗下所有 Prufrock 掘进机均会回收。它们在每次任务结束后都会被取出、进行技术升级，然后再次部署到新的项目中。
该媒体指出这种可重复使用的设计理念，与 SpaceX 在火箭回收技术上取得的成功一脉相承，是马斯克系企业追求极致效率与可持续性的共同特征。
