Apple's (AAPL) hardware engineering head, John Ternus, is seen as a frontrunner to succeed Chief Executive Tim Cook, The Wall Street Journal reported late Monday.
Other top potential successors include Craig Federighi, who heads software engineering; Eddy Cue, who oversees Apple's services division and is known for high-profile deals and ties to former CEO Steve Jobs; and Greg Joswiak, who manages global marketing and is central to Apple's brand strategy and public messaging, the report said.
Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
