Star Asia Investment's (TYO:3468) asset manager has been notified of a planned merger involving its tenant, Koko Hotels, effective Jan. 1, 2026.

The merger will see the tenant and two other companies absorbed into Polaris Holdings, a company belonging to the REIT's sponsor group, according to its Tokyo bourse filing on Thursday.

As a result, Polaris Holdings will succeed the lease agreements for 16 hotel properties owned by the REIT.

Due to the scale of these transactions, Polaris Holdings will be designated as a new specified related company of the REIT.
