0609 GMT - Wharf Real Estate Investment and Hysan Development's valuations remain compelling amid Hong Kong's recovering retail market, say DBS Group Research analysts in commentary. Hong Kong's retail sales value rose in October, exceeding the market's estimate. The two companies, both retail landlords in the city, could benefit from improving sentiment if the retail recovery is sustained, the analysts say. A prolonged retreat in Hong Kong's benchmark interest rate could enhance Wharf REIC's earnings prospects, while Hysan's balance sheet and shares could gain from an ongoing disposal of a luxury residential asset, they add. DBS has buy ratings on both companies. (megan.cheah@wsj.com)
