消息面上，《疯狂动物城2》周末表现超预期，刷新多项中国影史纪录。灯塔专业版数据显示，截至11月30日，《疯狂动物城2》在中国的票房已经突破19亿元。猫眼等平台将其总票房预测从24亿元大幅上调至42.63亿元。此外，截至《疯狂动物城2》上映首日，在中国市场与其联名的品牌超70家。
华源证券此前表示，关注进口片票房表现。电影市场仍是供给驱动，部分优质进口影片前作在中国市场有较强表现，目前重点续作有望催化观影需求，从而带动电影票房市场稳步增长。中信建投则表示，猫眼娱乐半年报首次大篇幅提及IP业务布局，现阶段通过实验性运营积累经验，未来影视IP运营有机会规模化、成体系展开，形成宣发+IP衍生联动。
