白宫国家经济委员会主任凯文·哈塞特表示，美联储若制定未来六个月的利率调整计划将是不负责任的，强调紧跟经济数据的变化至关重要。

　　“美联储主席的职责是观察数据、调整政策，并解释行动的依据，”哈塞特周一表示。“因此如果宣称未来六个月我将采取某项特定的行动是不负责任的。”

　　现任美联储主席鲍威尔的任期将于明年5月届满，作为最热门的接任人选，哈塞特被问及他认为2026年降息多少次是合理的。他说道：“我不打算给出具体的降息次数，但我可以说，要做的是关注数据。”

　　今年早些时候，美国总统唐纳德·特朗普多次要求美联储将基准利率降至2%以下，当前目标区间为3.75%-4%。市场普遍预期鲍威尔及其同僚将在周三的决议中将基准利率下调25个基点。

　　哈塞特认为，鲍威尔“在委员会中成功地协调了各方意见”，“我认为，鲍威尔主席对此的看法与我一致，即我们很可能应当继续把利率降下来 —— 在关注数据的同时，审慎地行动。”
