Singapore's Retail Sales Rise 4.5% in October

Singapore's total retail sales increased 4.5% in October on a year-on-year basis, according to data released by the Department of Statistics Singapore on Friday.

Excluding motor vehicles, retail sales were up 3.7% during the month.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, retail sales jumped 2.3% during the month, the data showed. Excluding motor vehicles, seasonally adjusted retail sales rose 2.9%.

Estimated total retail sales came in at SG$4.4 billion in October, with online sales making up 14.5% of it, the data showed. Excluding motor vehicles, total retail sales were SG$3.8 billion.
