Foresight News 消息，前中国银行副行长王永利发文《中国为何坚决叫停稳定币？》，文章指出，中国加快数字人民币发展，坚决遏制包括稳定币在内的虚拟货币的政策取向已经完全明确。这是出于中国移动支付和数字人民币全球领先优势、人民币主权安全和货币金融体系稳定等多方面因素的综合考虑。王永利认为，发展非美元稳定币的空间和机会不大，美元稳定币已占据全球法币稳定币市值和交易量超过 99% 的份额。他强调，在美元稳定币已高度占有加密资产交易市场的情况下，中国跟随美元稳定币之路发展人民币稳定币，不仅难以挑战美元稳定币的国际地位，甚至可能使人民币稳定币变成美元稳定币的附庸，对人民币主权安全和货币金融体系稳定带来严重威胁。王永利表示，中国在移动支付和数字人民币方面已具有全球领先优势，应坚定推进数字人民币发展，走出数字货币发展中国之路。
