特朗普严厉批评《纽约时报》等媒体不顾事实，持续发布虚假报道，诽谤贬低总统身心状态，其行为是“煽动甚至叛国”，是“人民的公敌”，应对此采取措施。认为《纽约时报》等媒体是糟糕、偏颇、不实的信息源，其停刊对美国最有利。
