Locksley Resources (ASX:LKY) found a thorium anomaly in the North Block claims following data processing of recently completed helicopter-borne magnetic and radiometric survey across the Mojave project in California, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian bourse.

A second thorium anomaly was also defined, trending parallel and located 700 meters east of the El Campo prospect, the filing said.

The anomaly is a key indicator for potential rare earth element mineralization.

Structural interpretation is underway, with field teams set to verify the new anomalies, per the filing.

Shares rose 1% in midday trade on Wednesday.
