Meridian Energy (ASX:MEZ, NZE:MEL) has repurchased 500,000 shares at an average price of NZ$5.6073 per share on the New Zealand Stock Exchange's main board, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.
On Dec.1, the company said the repurchased shares will be held as treasury stock.
Shares of the company fell 1% in recent Thursday trade in New Zealand.
