据荷兰国家广播公司(NOS)，尽管ASML声称卖给中国芯片制造商的产品都是“旧技术”，不能用来“生产最先进的芯片”，但是分析师仍然忧心忡忡，因为它们可能会用来军事技术的研发与部署。 消息称，中国电子科技集团(CETC)下属部门最近就采购了ASML DUV光刻机。NOS认为中国电科是国企，也是中国军工的核心单位，为航天火箭、无人机等生产核心设备，还在制造军用芯片。NOS还指控ASML向深圳国际量子研究院完整供应了一套DUV光刻机系统，而荷兰军事情报与安全局曾经明确就中国量子技术的发展发出过警告。 ASML对此表示，不会直接就面向特定客户的销售情况发表评论，但强调向中国销售的并非尖端技术，而是“无法用于生产最先进芯片的旧技术”。“对于ASML等供应商而言，根本无法判断中国某家芯片制造商是否应该受到出口管制的约束。国家安全事务的责任归属在于各国政府。”
