Magnetic Resources (ASX:MAU) said it is updating the underground mine design and development schedule to incorporate additional resources associated with high-grade core 3, reduce pre-production capex, and improve mined ore recovery at its Lady Julie Gold Project in Western Australia, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.
The company is engaging with providers of mining services to assist with open-pit and underground mining considerations while detailed engineering work is in progress for key infrastructure, including tailings storage, water supply and pit dewatering, camps, and power supply in progress.
The company said it is also investigating the impacts of ore variability on the process plant performance and the opportunity to utilize additional gravity process rather than flotation to improve gold recovery.
Magnetic Resources added that it is actively responding to requests from the Department of Mines, Petroleum, and Exploration for information associated with the mining proposal, submitted in November 2024, since the granting of mining leases in July and September.
