据西藏自治区高原生物研究所消息，该所与西藏自然科学博物馆联合山东枣庄学院、中国科学院水生生物研究所等单位的科研团队，在林芝市察隅县发现一种𬶐科鱼类新物种，正式命名为“疣叶凿齿𬶐”，标志着我国在喜马拉雅地区鱼类多样性与生物演化研究方面取得又一重要进展。
据了解，凿齿𬶐属当前已知仅有三个有效物种，“疣叶凿齿𬶐”作为其中之一，目前已知分布范围仅限于喜马拉雅东南缘的察隅河流域，显示出极高的地域特有性。本次发现对研究喜马拉雅山区生物多样性现状及制定针对性保护方案具有重要的科学价值，为后续喜马拉雅地区鱼类系统进化研究提供了关键样本基础。
在西藏自治区科技重点研发计划“喜马拉雅南麓区域动物多样性及适应机制研究”等项目的支持下，科研团队于今年4月在察隅县开展鱼类资源系统性调查时，采集到一批原鉴定为“安氏凿齿𬶐”的标本。通过深入的形态学比较与分子系统学分析，结合显著的遗传分化证据，团队确认其为独立新物种，并予以正式命名，相关研究成果于北京时间12月10日发表在国际学术期刊《生物钥匙》（《ZooKeys》）上。
