Robinhood Seen Going After Sportsbooks With Prediction Markets -- Market Talk

1525 ET - Robinhood is going after sportsbooks by introducing a parlay equivalent, Cantor analysts Brett Knoblauch and Gareth Gacetta say. The trading platform launched "preset combos," which allow users to trade on multiple events via Robinhood's new prediction markets platform. Knoblauch and Gacetta see this move as primarily focused on enhancing its sports prediction markets product because parlays are particularly lucrative for sports-betting companies. U.S. gross gaming revenue was $72 billion in 2024, and the analysts think Robinhood can inflect higher than that given its demographic and distribution advantages. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
