VersaBank has appointed Nicolas Ospina to the newly created role of global chief financial officer, effective early next year.
Ospina joins the Canadian business-to-business digital bank from Raymond James's financial-services investment-banking group, bringing over a decade of banking, financial services, and capital markets experience to our organization, VersaBank said.
The global CFO role will be responsible for oversight of the bank's finance function at the corporate level, the London, Ontario-based company said Friday.
Ospina is slated to assume the role Jan. 5. He succeeds John Asma, who was previously chief financial officer of VersaBank, a position he had held since December 2023. Asma will continue as VersaBank's executive vice president with responsibilities for operation and execution of strategy for Canadian digital banking operations, VersaBank said.
