此次收购标志着这家拥有40年历史的领先视频游戏发行商迎来了一个转折点。沙特阿拉伯公共投资基金正在互动媒体领域进行大手笔投资，以实现业务多元化，摆脱对石油的依赖。艺电私有化后，开发人员将能够专注于制作优质游戏，而无需承受来自公众投资者的季度业绩压力。
此前，艺电预计，2026财年净订单额约78.5亿美元，低于分析师平均预期的80.6亿美元。 艺电还预计全年度调整后EBITDA为27.6亿美元，低于市场普遍预期的29.3亿美元，主要因消费者开支疲弱、游戏机价格高企压制市场需求。
