　　此前，这些州指控该公司在明知故犯的情况下，销售安装了旨在规避排放控制装置的车辆。 此次和解解决了依据环境和消费者保护法所展开的调查指控。指控称，奔驰制造并分销了搭载“软件作弊装置”的柴油乘用车及货车。

　　梅赛德斯-奔驰在一份声明中表示，该多州协议解决了美国境内与柴油排放相关的“所有实质性剩余法律诉讼”。
