** Top miners: Newmont NEM.N rises 1.2%, Barrick Mining ABX.TO up 1.3%

** U.S.-listed shares of South African miners: Gold Fields GFI.N up 3.6%, Harmony Gold HMY.N gains 2%, Sibanye Stillwater SBSW.N rises 6.5%
