Austral Resources Australia (ASX:AR1) said access to its Rocklands copper deposit in Queensland is currently unavailable due to flooding at Butchers Creek, as parts of the state experience heavy rainfall and flooding, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.

Access to the deposit is expected to be restored later this week.

Its site personnel are conducting inspections and refuelling of pumps as required around the process pond, environmental pond, and northern catchment areas, per the filing. A risk assessment is completed before any entry into the tailings storage facility area.

The Lady Annie project in Queensland remained in full production during the period.

It added that its employees and contractors were safe, accounted for, and had sufficient supplies to enable them to continue working and living at its two operational bases at Lady Annie and Rocklands.

Its shares jumped 17% in recent trading on Friday.
