BlockBeats 消息，1 月 3 日，以太坊财库公司 BitMine 董事长 Tom Lee 在社交媒体上发文表示，BitMine 需要增加授权股本有三大原因：
· 为选择性后续发行（ATM）、融资提供空间
· 便于把握战略性交易机遇（并购等）
· 适应未来股票拆分需求（最关键）
每当公司进行股票拆分时，总授权股本必须充足才能满足操作需求。随着以太坊被验证为金融未来，其认为 ETH、BTC 的目标汇率看至 0.25。假设 ETH 未来涨至 25 万美元，届时 BMNR 股价将达 5,000 美元，为使公众能“便捷参与”股票投资，公司需要通过拆股将股价重置至 25 美元左右，这些拆股操作将增加总流通股本。因此，BitMine 只有在增加总授权股本后才能实施未来拆股计划。
或受该言论影响，BMNR 周五收盘价达 31.19 美元，涨幅达 14.88%。
