U.S. Natural Gas Sinks on Warmer Weather Outlook -- Market Talk

0902 ET - Natural gas futures are sharply lower after weekend weather forecasts turned warmer for much of the U.S., tempering winter demand expectations. "There still remains some optimism on the back end of the forecast, but the market is tired of waiting for it," Scott Shelton of TP ICAP says in a note. The 1-15 day outlook is so warm that the impact on balances will need a severe weather event to offset, he says, and current cold temperatures "remain more of a northern-tier event." Nymex natural gas is down 5.6% at $3.414/mmBtu.(anthony.harrup@wsj.com)
