Locksley Resources (ASX:LKY) said reconnaissance and surface sampling programs identified a northwest-to-southeast oriented mineralized corridor at the Mojave rare earth elements project in California, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

Early exploration results "possibly suggest" that the silver-lead-zinc-copper mineralization may reflect the presence of a large-scale hydrothermal system, per the filing. Rock chip sampling within the project's North Block returned results of up to 409 grams per tonne of silver, with associated base metal values of up to 1.5% grade of zinc and 0.88% grade of lead.

The firm's shares fell nearly 5% in recent trading on Tuesday.
