Suncorp Group (ASX:SUN) received around 80 home and motor insurance claims from ex-tropical cyclone Koji as of Sunday and around 60 home and motor claims from bushfires in Victoria, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.
The insurer said it established a regional office in Townsville, Queensland to support customers in central and north Queensland impacted by ex-tropical cyclone Koji and bushfires. Suncorp Chief Executive Steve Johnston encouraged impacted customers to lodge their claims online "as soon as possible."
The company's fiscal 2026 allowance for natural hazards was AU$1.77 billion, per the filing. The total cost of natural hazard events for the first half of the year is expected to be AU$1.32 billion. It expects net investment income for the first half to be around AU$250 million.
Suncorp Group's shares were down 2% in recent Monday trade.
