据德国《商报》报道援引消息人士的话报道，美国私募巨头黑石集团可能将投入至多 40 亿欧元（约合 46.5 亿美元），在德国利佩塔尔（Lippetal）建设一个数据中心。
去年12 月，黑石集团总裁乔恩·格雷（Jon Gray）表示，尽管大量资金投入了支持人工智能发展的硬件领域，但他仍认为在数据中心领域有良好的投资机会。
格雷当时表示：“令人惊讶的是，尽管大量资本涌入数据中心，但由于电力供应的限制，这里仍然是一个颇具吸引力的投资之地。”
