ChainCatcher 消息，据金十数据援引《纽约时报》报道，三名知情员工表示，Meta Platforms(META.O) 正考虑对其 Reality Labs 部门中从事“元宇宙”业务的一个分支进行裁员，最早可能在下个月启动，涉及该团队 10% 至 30% 的员工。该团队主要负责 VR 头显以及基于 VR 的社交网络。Reality Labs 由元宇宙部门和可穿戴设备部门组成。
消息人士表示，管理层预计将把裁员节省下来的资金转而投入 AR 眼镜项目。Meta 于2021 年与雷朋合作推出 AR 眼镜，其销量已超过公司内部目标。知情人士称，Meta 正重新评估元宇宙相关投入，在元宇宙部门内部，高管正考虑对 VR 相关岗位进行大幅削减。
