BUZZ-Citi, Jefferies cautious on Australia's Suncorp, says weather events to dent earnings

** Brokerage firms Citi & Jefferies say weather conditions & bushfires in Victoria to weigh on Suncorp's SUN.AX earnings

** Co on Monday said total cost of natural hazard events for first-half expected to be A$1.32 billion ($885.46 million), while reiterating full-year allowance was A$1.77 billion

** Jefferies trims its FY26 cash earnings per share forecasts by 14% to 99 Australian cents per share

** Citi says profit hit "will also likely impact co's interim dividend"

** "This is the kind of year Suncorp did not want" - Citi

** Citi retains "neutral" rating, cuts target price to A$18.50 from A$19.25 apiece

** Jefferies rates stock as "hold", trims TP to A$18.25 from A$20.55

** Stock lost 7% in 2025
