0604 GMT - Prices of new private homes in Singapore are likely to rise moderately this year, says Christine Sun, chief researcher and strategist at real-estate services company Realion Group. This comes as many new projects are likely to be located in the suburbs, which tend to have lower prices than the prime areas, she says. She expects prices of new homes to rise by 2%-4% this year. Meanwhile, she anticipates fewer new units to be launched this year, which would result in softer annual sales. She estimates 8,500 to 9,500 new homes, excluding executive condominiums, to be sold this year, lower than the 10,821 units sold in 2025, but higher than 2024's figure. (megan.cheah@wsj.com)
