Pimco's CIO Says Trump's 'Unpredictable' Policies Prompt Shift From U.S. -- Market Talk

0939 ET - President Trump's "unpredictable" policies have led Pimco to diversify away from U.S. assets, the company's chief investment officer Dan Ivascyn tells the Financial Times. "It's important to appreciate that this is an administration that's quite unpredictable," Ivascyn says. "We do think we're in a multiyear period of some diversification away from US assets." The Justice Department recently opened an investigation into Fed Chair Jerome Powell over his testimony last summer about the central bank's building-renovation project. Powell claimed the investigation was an attempt to pressure the Fed to lower interest rates. "Fed independence on setting monetary policy remains critically important to markets," Ivascyn says.
