J.B. Hunt Says Freight Market is 'Fragile' -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Jan 16

J.B. Hunt Transport Services Chief Executive Shelley Simpson says the freight market feels fragile at the start of 2026. On a call with analysts Thursday, Simpson said capacity continues to exit the truckload market. Demand from customers is mixed, with some more optimistic than others, Simpson said. On the supply chain side, there is not much room to stretch if demand ebbs or flows, she added. Even small shifts from demand or supply are causing bigger ripples through the market than they historically have, she said. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
