European Bank Stocks Edge Down at Market Open -- Market Talk

0848 GMT - Shares in European banks trade slightly lower after the opening bell, roughly in line with the market as investors digest the implications of President Trump's latest tariff threats. The banking subindex of the Stoxx 600 fell around 0.9% in early exchanges, while the broader index traded down 0.8%. In London, shares in Barclays were down 1.1% given exposure to the U.S. credit-card market and the proposed caps on rates.(elena.vardon@wsj.com)
