Malaysian Healthcare Sector Outlook Remains Solid -- Market Talk

0121 GMT - The Malaysian healthcare sector's outlook may remain bright as earnings are increasingly driven by higher revenue per patient despite modest growth in inpatient volume, Maybank IB analysts Nur Natasha Ariza and Yin Shao Yang say in a note. Greater case complexity, rising medical tourism and steady occupancy rates should support the sector's earnings visibility even as pressure from insurers and government reimbursement limits persists, they say. Capacity expansion from new and acquired hospitals is also gaining pace, driving stronger earnings momentum into 2026, they add. Maybank maintains a positive rating on the Malaysian healthcare sector, naming IHH Healthcare as its top pick due to its diversified earnings base.(yingxian.wong@wsj.com)
