Trek Metals (ASX:TKM) said its follow-up rock chip sampling program over the Kuro prospect at its Christmas Creek project in Western Australia returned near-pure manganese oxide rock chip assays grading up to over 60% of manganese, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.

The results extended the sampled outcropping manganese mineralization from around 320 meters to 750 meters.

The company submitted a heritage impact assessment request for consideration with the YMN Traditional Owners ahead of a planned drilling program, per the filing.

Trek Metals' shares jumped almost 13% in recent trading on Monday.
