0938 GMT - There are four areas Europe needs to work on to become competitive--create a capital market union, complete its energy union, improve movement across borders for the labor market, and increase attention to research, says IMF's Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in an interview with a CNBC panel at Davos, Switzerland. The IMF has many times appealed to Europe to complete the single market and concentrate on domestic competitiveness, as the continent is lagging in productivity, she says. It lags in its ability to turn small companies into giants, Georgieva adds. "Europeans, if you're watching, get your act together," she says. (aimee.look@wsj.com)
