J.B. Hunt Disappoints Some Investors With Conservatism -- Market Talk
Dow Jones
Jan 17
11:46 ET--J.B. Hunt Transport Services stayed fairly conservative in its forecasts for demand in 2026, despite some investors hoping for more optimism, UBS analysts say. "We believe investors may have anticipated a bit more in terms of either raising the cost takeout target or providing more conviction on realizing stronger pricing," the analysts say. Management said on its call that, while trends looked strong, it was too early to tell if that strength would last. The analysts say J.B. Hunt's prudence makes sense because it is premature to say whether spot rates will follow a normal seasonal decline at this point. Shares are off 1%. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
