1月21日，据彭博社援引知情人士消息称，在达沃斯一场仅限受邀人士参加的闭门晚宴上，美国商务部长霍华德·卢特尼克对欧洲大肆批评后，欧洲央行行长克里斯蒂娜·拉加德突然中途离场。
知情人士称，这场贵宾活动于周二晚举行，现场有100多人出席，卢特尼克作为压轴发言嘉宾登场。卢特尼克在对晚宴宾客的讲话中贬低欧洲经济体，称其与美国的实力相比缺乏竞争力，让在场多位欧洲人士感到不适。
知情人士称，随着批评的不断升级，有人看到拉加德起身离开。
卢特尼克被安排在会场后排较差的座位上，发言期间，时而有嘘声。
美国贸易代表贾米森·格里尔被安排在主桌就座，同桌的还有贝莱德首席执行官Larry Fink。
拉加德曾任法国财政部长，并在特朗普首个任期的大部分时间担任国际货币基金组织(IMF)总裁。她在2024年初就曾警告称，特朗普重返白宫可能会给欧洲带来麻烦。
欧洲央行不予置评。卢特尼克的一位发言人未立即回应置评请求。
