Easing U.S.-UE Tensions Fail to Support Dollar -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Jan 23

1418 ET - Trump's change of heart about using military or economic force to take over Greenland calmed global markets, but not enough to support the dollar. The greenback remains under pressure as U.S. and EU leaders try to hammer out an agreement that would please Washington without weakening NATO and international trade. The dollar weakens 0.6% against the euro and 0.7% versus the Swiss franc. It's stable relative to the yen. The WSJ Dollar Index falls 0.4%, on pace for its lowest close since late December.
