1529 ET - The Bank of Canada should keep its policy rate unchanged in its scheduled decision next week and leave it at its present 2.25% level until some time in 2027, says the monetary-policy council at the C.D. Howe Institute. The Toronto-based think tank says the council's nine members "showed a remarkable degree of unanimity" in their recommendations. Members of the monetary-policy council, a mix of private-sector and academic economists, says economic momentum in Canada is waning, and that overall inflationary pressures are easing. Panelists add that any further disruption, or improvement, in US-Canada trade ties "would likely change" their views on recommended level of interest rates. (paul.vieira@wsj.com; @paulvieira)
