Shares of LSI Industries rose after the company posted a higher profit in the fiscal second quarter, boosted by double-digit growth in its lighting segment.
Shares rose 14% to $23.23 midday Thursday. The stock is up 17% in the past 12 months.
The Cincinnati-based lighting-and-graphics company on Thursday reported a second-quarter profit of $6.35 million, or 20 cents a share, compared with a profit of $5.65 million, or 18 cents a share, a year earlier.
On an adjusted basis, earnings were 26 cents a share. Analysts polled by Factset were expecting 20 cents a share.
Sales fell slightly to $147 million, compared with $147.7 million a year earlier. Analysts were expecting $139.4 million in sales.
LSI said sales in its lighting segment grew 15% year over year. The company said it expects that segment to continue growing in the second half of fiscal 2026, alongside a resumption of growth in the display-solutions segment.
