Gold Miners' Shares Rise as Gold Surges Past $4,900 Amid Geopolitical Tensions

Shares of Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) and Newmont (ASX:NEM) rose about 6% and 4%, respectively, in Friday's trade, as gold surged past $4,900 an ounce for the first time amid geopolitical tensions, a softer US dollar, and expectations of Federal Reserve interest rate cuts.
Evolution Mining (ASX:EVN) gained around 6%, earlier hitting its all-time high.
Spot gold climbed to a record high of $4,917.65 per ounce.
