DAVOS: Housing Affordability a Widespread Concern With No Easy Fix, JLL CEO Says -- Market Talk

1224 GMT - Housing affordability is not just a problem in the U.S. and defies simple solutions, the CEO of real estate services group JLL tells CNBC at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Home buyers with limited budgets are struggling, Christian Ulbrich says. But the option of building enough affordable housing to ease a widespread affordability crisis is constrained by both increased construction costs and a lack of equity, Ulbrich says. The equity crunch is where the government can step in and provide support. However, "there's no easy answer," Ulbrich adds. (william.gray@wsj.com)
