DAVOS: Fears of AI Displacing Software Incumbents Are Exaggerated, Workday CEO Says -- Market Talk

1303 GMT - There's an "overblown narrative" that new AI agents are going to displace mature software groups such as Workday, the company's CEO Carl Eschenbach tells CNBC in an interview at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. AI is a tailwind and "absolute not a headwind" for Workday, which is likely to benefit from the technology in large part due to an "incumbency" that allowed it to build customer trust and access their data, he says. There will be third-party AI agents, but people "can't underestimate what trust means" in the enterprise software business, he adds. (william.gray@wsj.com)
