Vale (VALE) is probing a water and sediment overflow incident in a pit at the Fabrica mine in Brazil's Minas Gerais state, Bloomberg News reported Sunday.
The mining giant doesn't expect the incident to impact its output, the news outlet reported, citing the company.
The water reached some areas of Pires, a subsidiary of rival CSN Mineracao, Bloomberg reported.
Vale and CSN didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
Vale shares were up 1.9% in recent premarket activity Monday.
