由于阿里巴巴是信息科技行业的领导者之一，信息科技为现盛行的行业并对经济发展极为重要, 董事会预期阿里巴巴的未来前景及发展潜力是乐观的。董事相信该等交易可改善本集团的投资组合表现。由于该等交易于公开市场进行，董事(包括独立非执行董事)认为该等交易的条款乃按公平合理的一般商业条款进行，并符合本公司及其股东的整体利益。
