MicroVision to Acquire IP, Inventory-Related Assets From Luminar Technologies

MicroVision (MVIS) said Tuesday it has agreed to buy some of Luminar Technologies, including IP and inventory related to the Iris and Halo lidar sensors, among others.

The company will acquire certain assets, employees and contracts associated with Luminar's lidar business for $33 million at an auction conducted by Luminar under the US Bankruptcy Code.

The acquisition is expected to close around Feb. 2, with a hearing to seek court approval scheduled for this Tuesday.

Shares of the company were up over 1% in recent Tuesday trading.
