More than half of House Democrats have now signed onto an effort to impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, as fallout grows from the shooting in Minneapolis.

The resolution, led by Rep. Robin Kelly (D., Ill.), has 140 Democratic signatures, according to her office, including 28 lawmakers who joined after Alex Pretti was killed Saturday. Kelly said the administration's approach has inflamed tensions in Democratic-led cities. "President Trump's war against Democratic cities must stop now," she wrote on X on Monday. While the impeachment effort has drawn support from both progressive and moderate Democrats, it faces long odds. Republicans hold a majority in the House, and removal from office would require a two-thirds vote in the Senate.
