Valero reports flaring at Port Arthur, Texas, refinery - community notice

HOUSTON, Jan 27 (Reuters) - Valero Energy Corp VLO.N reported flaring on Tuesday at its 380,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) refinery in Port Arthur, Texas, in a notice posted on a community warning site for residents near the facility.

Valero provided no other reason besides "operations require flaring" for activating the refinery's safety flare system, used when hydrocarbons cannot be processed normally.
